Out of the many rules of driving the most important rule of driving would be that you need to acquire a license to drive. Laws in different states and countries would say otherwise but the ideal age to get a drivers license would be 18 years. You are free to drive on roads if you have a license with you and it is a must that you carry it with you at all times. You need to be acquainted with few basic rules that must be followed at all times. Rules that state that you must not drive under the influence of alcohol, if you are a teen driver then you must acquire a learner’s license at the least, some states even provide for driving tests, which requires the individual to answer few questions and also show the inspector proof of his driving skills. Driving rules would also include that indicators and horn be used at times required while driving, use of the rear view mirror while driving is important. Headlights or night lamps must be switched on while driving at night, rash drivers will be penalised by Law.

 

Never try to overtake vehicles from the wrong side, different countries follow right hand side driving rules while some may follow left hand driving rules, in both the cases overtaking may prove to be fatal for life. If you have to overtake then you must show the required indication that acts as a sign to the other driver. Do not stop abruptly on a busy road you may cause an accident or then an unwanted traffic jam, though that might not happen in most of the times. Talking on the cell phone while driving is also the cause of accidents lately, due to distraction while in a conversation.
